Join Our Team as a Financial Controller at Mercury Yacht Construction an Oceanco company.

What will be your challenge?

Are you ready to take your financial expertise to the next level? At Mercury Yacht Construction, located in Zwijndrecht, we’re seeking a dynamic Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in our financial operations. In this critical position, you will be the driving force behind our financial performance and reporting, working closely with our Managing Director and the Finance & Control team at Oceanco Alblasserdam.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Financial Performance: Review, control, analyse, and evaluate financial data while discussing variances with the Managing Director. You will oversee invoicing, payment conditions, and the fulfilment of contracts, ensuring accurate processing of client change orders.
  • Reliable Reporting: Serve as the primary contact for both internal stakeholders (finance & control, board) and external parties (auditors, tax authorities) regarding all finance-related inquiries. Your expertise will ensure we provide reliable, correct, and complete financial information.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare and review comprehensive monthly reports, including actual and forecasted revenues, costs, and margins. Conduct detailed analyses of actual, committed, and forecasted costs against budget while maintaining an overview of financial projections.
  • Process Improvement: Analyse financial processes and develop proposals to enhance efficiency through instruction, standardization, and the use of financial tools. Collaborate with the Managing Director and Director Finance & Control to implement approved initiatives.
  • Year-End Closing: Take charge of the year-end closing process for Mercury Yacht Construction, ensuring seamless alignment of financial data with our Finance & Control team.

What do we ask for?

  • Higher Vocational Education, BSc Finance & Control
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
  • You recognise yourself in the following competences; Analytical ability, Communication, Exactitude, Organisation engagement, Passionate and proud team player.
  • You oversee the big picture and have a comprehensive view of the entire process
  • You are pro-active and problem-solving in your approach
  • A good command of written and spoken English
